ABOUT ABOUT

Join Construct Learning and Flux. for a day of hands-on learning with two of the most versatile STEM and computer science education products on the market. Kick off the day learning how to use Edison to teach coding and robotics. Due to its versatility and scalability, Edison can be used with your youngest learners without the need for computers or writing any code. When you’re ready for more Edison can be programmed with a variety of free programming languages ranging from drag-and-drop coding to full text programming with Python.

We will spend our afternoon exploring the world of physical computing with the MakerBit. The MakerBit aims to teach students the foundations of computer science and computer programming by exploring everyday items and the technology used to power them. Turn a cardboard box into a traffic light, a temperature monitoring system, or a simple interactive map using the micro:bit powered MakerBit.

There is no experience necessary to attend this workshop. Although all are welcome to attend, the workshop was designed primarily for educators just getting started on their computer science and robotics journey. Already have some experience? We promise you’ll walk away with lots of new ideas and resources to enhance your existing program.

Educators will leave this workshop with all the skills, knowledge, and materials valued at over $135 to start or enhance computer science and robotics program in your classroom.

All participants that register before February 20th will receive an Edison robot (retail value $49) and a MakerBit Starter Kit (retail value $110).

Requirements for workshop:

  1. Fully charged laptop or Chromebook with USB port
  2. MakerBit Media Linker Chrome Extension installed
